Welcome to the 2012 StrawHat Staff/Tech/Design On-Line Registration. Both Equity and non-Equity theatres from across the country use our online service to hire designers, administrators, stage managers, musical directors, box office staff, and technicians. Theatres that have participated in the past include:StrawHat registration services are open to anyone interested in a career in the performing arts. Auditions are restricted to non-Equity performers 18 years of age or older. Application Deadline is February 4, 2012

In addition to posting technical resumes on our website at www.strawhat-auditions.com, we also post designer portfolios. By posting your resume as soon as we receive your completed application, our participating theatres can contact you directly to discuss your resume and portfolio when the most jobs are available. The website has been praised by our theaters, who review your resumes, do their interviewing by phone, and hire many of you on the spot! You will also have access to the StrawHat job listings file, informing you of what positions are available at hiring theatres as well as detailed information about them -- including direct links to their web sites (where available). StrawHat-auditions.com gives you the jump on distributing your resume.

Your resume will appear online at www.strawhat-auditions.com in our Staff/Tech/Design database free of charge. In addition to the online listing, post a portfolio of (3) examples of your work for a fee of $20. Directors and Choreographers may provide video; Designers (Set, Scenic Design, Lighting, Costumes, etc.) may add photos, renderings and/or video. Musical Directors and Accompanists may also provide audio or video.

• Do not enter more than one registration! You can go back using the Change Tech Information link to make changes, complete and printout your application.

STEP 1:

COMPLETE the on-line application to create your own Staff/Tech/Design Profile.
IMPORTANT: please register with an email address that will not be blocked by your server. We use your email to notify you of job opportunities and other information, special offers to attend Inside the Actors Studio, changes to your registration, confirmation of your application status and more. If you are not sure if your system blocks StrawHat, ask your network administrator.

STEP 2: EMAIL us your resume (Subject Line should read: Last Name, First Name -- Tech Application)

• Save your resume as a Word doc, Adobe pdf, or rtf file.
• Send as attachments to an email to info@strawhat-auditions.com with your name and email address.

STEP 3: IF YOU ARE INCLUDING A PORTFOLIO, MAIL us the following:

1. Please identify each photo, video, audio, rendering, or musical selection: the title of the show, song, etc.; and any short comments or additional information you may want to add. All digital material must be on CD or DVD. Please do not email your digital material! Please note: if for some technical reason we cannot post your material, we will void and return your check.
2. Your $20 portfolio fee (money order or check) payable to StrawHat Auditions. This fee is nonrefundable.
3. Please include your name and contact information with your portfolio submission.

We strongly recommend you send us your resume in addition to the online application. Online posting is available now and early registration is advised. You will receive confirmation within about a week of receiving your materials.
